If you love Dan Ran Away, and other Daniel Weisman productions, then you will not want to miss Crudest Oil. Get your clicking-finger ready and roll on over to www.crudestoil.blogspot.com! The blog, launched this morning, is a joint production between noted writers and visual artists, including Alex "A-money" Howe; Lauren "Have You Any" Wool; Hayley "My HayK47 is a tool" Powers-Thornton Kennedy; and Daniel "Dan Weisman" Weisman.
The much anticipated blog will document the production of the quartet's forthcoming eponymous debut documentary film about a road trip from Sandy Eggo, CA to Boss! Done!, MA.
This new addition to the blogoshpere has critics raving. Andrew Berry, the noted reader of blogs and appreciator of all things fine, writes, "stellar... crudest oil." His words, among others, are somewhere garnering facetime on Mr. Weisman's Facebook Wall.
The road trip will kick off next week, as the travelers are set to converge on Sandy Eggo this coming Saturday, June 28. While our sources inform us that live footage of this momentous occasion will be unavailable, we are assured that transcripts and commentary will be made public immediately.

Makeover
It's been almost a year, and the time has come to revamp the blog. This post marks the beginning of a whole new Dan Ran Away.
The most that this post can offer is a glimpse at the future. For the moment, I haven't run away at all--I am actually quite stationary in Newton, Ma. Fortunately, the next few weeks will see a fair bit of running. I will be heading to the West Coast at the end of the month solely for the sake of driving back to the East Coast. There's nothing like transportation for the sake of transportation!
After that it's off to unemploymentsville. I feel like a bit of an explorer: searching the waters of unemployment for an island of a job. I also find that in the absence of proper school work, I have discovered a penchant for flowery writing. I can't wait to regale all four of you readers!
Expect great changes to Dan Ran Away in the near future. The emphasis on China will be gone. The format has changed. I still plan to talk about restaurants, weird issues, and things I see. Also expect more photography (and more links, once I find a new site to host photos at).
